Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Hellowriter ("we", "us"), an AI story-writing service available at hellowriter.ai, operated by a limited liability company based in Florida, United States. By using Hellowriter you agree to these terms. You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

Hellowriter turns your ideas into illustrated stories with AI: characters, a world, and chapters that stay consistent, each scene with its own art. You can try the generator free without an account. Creating an account lets you save stories and keep writing. A paid Premium subscription unlocks additional features described at checkout.

Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself and give us accurate account information. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed it.

You own the content you create on Hellowriter — the ideas you type in and the stories you build. So we can run the service, you give us permission to host, store, back up and process your content, to send it to the AI providers that generate your text and images, and to display it back to you. That permission exists only to operate Hellowriter: we never publish your stories, share them with other users, or use them to train our own models.

You can export your stories at any time, and you can delete a story — or your whole account — whenever you want.

You are responsible for what you put in. Do not upload or prompt with content you have no right to use.

Story text and images on Hellowriter are generated by AI models. To the extent we hold any rights in that output, we assign them to you. But AI output has limits you accept by using the service: it can be inaccurate or unintentionally similar to existing works or to other users’ output, and we cannot guarantee it is unique or that it does not resemble third-party material. Review anything you plan to publish or sell, and use it at your own responsibility.

Hellowriter is family-safe by design. Do not use it to:

• create or share content that is illegal, or that sexualizes or endangers minors in any form;
• infringe someone else’s copyright, trademark or other rights;
• harass, defame or threaten real people;
• attempt to bypass the content-safety filters, rate limits or free-tier limits;
• access the service with bots or scrapers, resell it, or probe or disrupt its infrastructure.

Premium is a paid subscription billed by Stripe, monthly or yearly at the price shown at checkout, plus any applicable taxes. It renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the billing portal in your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. If we change prices, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before the new price applies to you.

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. By starting your subscription you agree that we provide the service immediately, and you lose the right of withdrawal to the extent the service has been performed. Beyond what the law requires, refunds are at our discretion — if something went wrong, email [email protected] and we will try to make it right.

The Hellowriter service itself — the software, design, brand and everything that is not your content — belongs to us and our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the service, not any other rights in it.

You can stop using Hellowriter at any time and delete your account from your profile page — that permanently removes your stories, images and data as described in our privacy policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (like ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability) survive termination.

Hellowriter is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output will meet your expectations.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of 50 US dollars or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law grants you and that cannot be waived.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida. If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law requires otherwise, you keep the protections and venue rights that mandatory local law gives you.

We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top; for material changes we will notify you by email or in the product. Continuing to use Hellowriter after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
