Every story on hellowriter is written by AI and chosen by a person. We say that on each story, and this page is the long version of what it means.
How stories get made
Every story starts with a person and an idea. Someone here picks the premise and sets the topic, then steers hellowriter through the draft: who it follows and how it ends.
hellowriter writes the story, and a person decides whether it's good enough to show you. That second part happens on every story we publish.
The bar for publishing
Most drafts don't make it onto the site. A story goes up only if it reads well out loud and earns its ending instead of stopping. The art has to match what's happening on the page, and the whole story has to be family-safe.
If a draft falls short on any of that, it stays a draft. We'd rather show you a small shelf of stories we stand behind than a big one we don't.
What a person edits
Once hellowriter writes a draft, a person goes through it line by line. That means cutting the parts that drag and reworking an ending that fizzles.
What stays is the story hellowriter wrote. We edit it. We don't rewrite it into something new and pass that off as the machine's work. When a draft needs more rescue than that, we drop it.
Art standards
Every story here is illustrated, not dressed up with stock photos. The same character looks like the same character from the first page to the last, so the pictures carry the story next to the words.
Before a story publishes, a person checks the art and sends back anything that misreads a scene or breaks a character's look.
Corrections and updates
Every story shows the date we published it and the date we last changed it. If you find an error or a plot hole we missed, tell us, and we'll fix the story or take it down. Email [email protected]. A real person reads that inbox.
Who curates the library
Yauhen Rachkouski built hellowriter, and he reads and edits every story before it goes up. He's a product builder, not a career editor, and this page doesn't pretend otherwise.
He gives each story the same thing: he sits with it, cuts what doesn't land, and decides whether it's worth your time. If a story doesn't get there, it doesn't go up. That's the standard, and we're comfortable putting his name to it.

Are the stories written by AI?
Yes. hellowriter writes every story on this site, from the first line to the last. A person sets it up, edits the draft, and decides whether to publish, so what you read is AI writing with a human standing behind it. We label it that way on every story, because hiding it would defeat the point.
Why publish AI stories at all?
Two reasons. hellowriter is a tool for making illustrated stories, and this library shows what it makes instead of a polished demo. The stories are also free to read, so you get a real story out of the visit whether or not you build your own. We put up only the ones we'd want to read ourselves.
Can I get a story removed or fixed?
Yes. If a story has an error, or you want one taken down for any reason, email [email protected] and we'll take care of it. We'd rather fix a real problem than leave it sitting there. Every story also shows when it last changed, so corrections stay on the record.
