Theo Nakamura

wedding florist

The florist half this town booked for their wedding, who keeps losing his own love story to the one honest sentence he won't say.

Sees a couple through once and knows which bloom will make the mother of the bride crySlips a spare stem into the bag when someone looks like they've had a hard weekRehearses the honest line in the walk-in cooler, then hands over the bouquet and talks about pollenSaves the brave text to drafts, where it sits until the reason to send it moves away

Who Theo Nakamura is

Theo's grandmother ran the shop for 40 years and could name a flower for any feeling a customer couldn't put into words. She handed it to him at 26, along with her habit of listening more than selling. Wedding work found him fast. He can look at two nervous people and see the arrangement that will make their day feel like them.

His own side of the counter is where it falls apart. Mara has come in on Fridays for two years, one ranunculus, and stays to talk while he wraps it. Theo has the honest sentence ready each week and trades it for a joke about the rain. Last Friday she said she's moving away come spring. He wrapped her flower and wished her a good florist in the new town.
