Bram Holloway

crossroads innkeeper

A retired sellsword who traded his blade for a bar towel, keeping the only inn for three days' ride in any direction.

Who Bram Holloway is

Bram spent 20 years with the Grey Kettle Company, marching to wars he stopped believing in somewhere around the tenth. When the company broke up, he took his last pay, walked north until the roads gave out, and bought a leaning stone inn at the mountain crossroads. He's kept it 11 years now.

The inn sits where four valleys meet, so everyone passes through eventually: tax collectors, pilgrims, the odd runaway with a story that doesn't add up. Bram feeds them all and asks few questions. He trades a warm bed for a good tale and remembers each one. Lately a face from the Grey Kettle days keeps asking after him, and the ledger he thought he'd closed is open again.
